Three Ways With CrafTangles Stamp set| CraftAdda GD Post

Hello everyone!

My new GD post is up on the CraftAdda blog and  I shared  different ways by which I explored the beautiful stamp set from CrafTangles- Mom, You Rock.
This stamp set has 13 clear photopolymer handcut stamps, out of which three are floral images and 10 stamps are a variety of sentiments that can be very aptly used to make cards for the special ladies in our life. One thing I love about this set is that it contains the stamp ‘Grandma’, which I haven’t yet seen anywhere and I have actually been looking for ‘grandma’ themed stamps for a while.
Here’s the first card I made –

I started by stamping the floral images over a 5 by 7 inch card panel and diecut the scalloped circular panel in such a way that the stamped images are partially over this circular panel.
These images were then coloured with the help of Faber Castell connector pens, while the images over the main panel were left uncoloured(spotlight stamping).
Stamped the sentiment over the die cut circle.
The main panel was then mounted over a card base followed by adhering the coloured image panel with the help of 3D foam tape for dimension.
Finished off the card by embellishing with pearls.

Second card-

This card design was inspired by a card I saw on instagram by a talented crafter friend Neha Bhatt
I started by randomly stamping the floral images over a card panel with the help of Versafine Onyx black ink.
Then I coloured the images using Faber Castell connector pens.
The background was given a light watercolour wash using Gansai Tambi watercolours.
Then over a card base, I splattered some black acrylic paint by simply dipping a paint brush into the paint and flicking it lightly over the paper to give an artsy appearance. I remember learning about this idea on Neha’s blog a few month’s ago and liked it. I always love her creative ideas.
The stamped panel was then suitably shaped and adhered to the card base.
Finally, stamped the sentiment on the outside as well as on the inside of the card.

And I also altered the cover of a 2017 diary with the help of the floral stamps. Here’s how-

I hope you liked the ideas I shared today and feel inspired. Thanks for visiting.
Wishing you all a fantastic and very creative 2017 ahead!
Love,
Jasleen

Altered Diary Cover | Sizzix Post

Hello dear friends and bloggers,

How are you all doing ? I'm posting here after quite a while. My father in-law passed away last month after succumbing to a chronic illness. He wasn't keeping very well since past two years and got very critical in his last few days. He had to be hospitalised and that's where he breathed his last. He was a strong pillar of support and guidance for our family and his presence will always be missed. After a brief phase of ups and downs, we are doing much better now and trying to get our normal routines back on track.

It feels good to be crafting again after a month's break. I do miss visiting many blogs though but I'll catch up soon.

So, this week I shared a new idea at Sizzix Lifestyle blog, where I show you how I altered a dairy cover. Are you a planner person? Do you have a habit of making daily to-do lists and reminders? If I talk about myself, I feel organised only when I make a daily list of chores and note them down in a diary or notebook, to be check-listed at the end of the day. I never go for branded or imported planners and diaries, a simple and cheap store bought diary or notebook is good enough for this purpose. And we are crafters!! We can always give it a makeover by adding our own creative touch to it. And why not? When I know I would be using it a lot and seeing it the first thing in the morning for most of the days of the year. ;)

Sneak peek :-

Would love to know what you think about the idea. I might come up with more such ideas in my upcoming posts. It was such fun altering a cover.

Masculine Cards | CraftAdda Post

Hello folks!

I’m so glad to be writing my first post as a Guest Designer at CraftAdda blog. Khyati sent me this super stamp set known as ‘The Best Guy Ever’ alongwith the Chevron Stencil, manufactured by their brand CrafTangles.

It’s a masculine stamp set and I’m sharing a few different ways by which we can make a good use of this set.

Here’s the first card I made:-

For making this one, I started by sponging some Memento London sky ink through the CrafTangles stencil on a piece of white card stock. I also stamped the ‘bow’ from the CrafTangles stamp set over another piece of white card stock and fuzzy cut it. Then I cut and shaped the stenciled paper in such a way that it resembles a jacket, and mounted it over an A2 sized card base. Attached a tiny ‘collar’ at the top, adhered the bow using a 3D foam tape and added the red button to complete the look. The sentiment was stamped on the inside.

 Inside -
Onto the second card:-

To make this one, I started by stamping the ‘moustache’ over a 6 by 6 inches card base. Then I die cut a while panel using Sizzix thinlits stitched rectangles die, and stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink. After heat embossing with silver EP, I gave a light water colour wash to the sentiment background for some interest. Then I added a couple of die cut frames around the sentiment, in order to make my focal point more prominent.

Third card:-

Well, and you thought masculine cards can’t be colourful? ;) This super fun and quirky card was made by stamping, colouring using Faber Castell pens, followed by addition of a simple tag with the sentiment :)

I'm linking this card to Uniko Challenge #37- Rainbow Theme.

Fourth Card:-

For making this super CAS card, I stamped the ‘tie’ using Altenew coral pink ink over a white card stock and fuzzy cut it. The rest was simple, shaped a black piece of black paper to make the ‘jacket’, adhered it over a white card panel and added a little golden heart to compliment the sentiment ‘The best Guy Ever’.

And also sharing a couple of gift wrapping and party bag ideas using this stamp set :-

So, that’s all from my end today. If you have been following my work, you must be aware that I hardly make masculine projects, and that’s only because I have a hard time thinking about ideas for making them. But thanks to CrafTangles for coming up with such an awesome masculine stamp set, it has everything needed to make a decent card for a man. I loved this stamp set.

Would love to know if you enjoyed my post today.

Love,
Jasleen.

A Cute Shaped Card For a Friend

Hi friends,

I'm back again today to share my third card for participating in the onging WCMD 2016 Challenges at Winnie & Walter blog and I'm so loving it, getting back to my older days of blogging and making cards just to play along some challenges and some simple pure fun. :)  And a big reason for this is the inspiration I'm getting from my friends Dr. Sonia's and Pooja's posts, who are also playing along the same challenge. It's always fun to see friends actively taking part in challenges and it motivates you as well.

So, today I'm sharing a very simple and cute shaped card :-

To make this, I used Sizzix Framelits scalloped circles die set for making the shaped card base. That cute doggy image is from 'Your Next Stamp'- Valentine stamp set. The sentiment is from MFT- Donuts and sprinklers.
The image is coloured using Faber Castell pencils. I gave a little water colour wash over the white card panel using Gansai Tambi paints and mounted the image and the silver embossed sentiment strip over the water coloured base, using foam tape.

I made this card for my sweet friend Pooja of Reusing, Cards and Quilling blog, who has always been very supportive all throughout my blogging journey. She's one amongst those who make me feel very valued and special about myself.  Thanks, Pooja and keep inspiring us with your beautiful and unique work.

Clean and Simple Greeting

This is my second post for the day. Please click HERE for my previous card I shared today.

Here's a CAS card I made for participating in the ongoing WCMD 2016 challenges at Winnie and Walter blog.

To make this one, I adhered a few strips of washi tape onto the gray card panel to mask the areas and directly applied versamark inkto the remaining areas. Then I poured some silver embossing powder and heat embossing this gave me beautifully striped and silver embossed background.

Then, over a smaller sized white card panel, I stamped a few floral images from MFT-Desert Bouquet stamp set using Memento dew drop ink pads and lighly sponged the corner with Antique linen distress ink. Then I die-cut 'Greetings' from Sizzix Thinlits -Holiday words Script, and stacked it to make the sentiment. If you see closely, are you able to view a slight hint of black and silver from underneath the 'greetings' word? I added a layer of black and silver die cut word to give a little shadow effect.

Finished off the card with tiny die cut white flowers and dew drop clear pearls.

Background Building with Stamps

I'm very happy to share a card with you all today, that I made to participate in the ongoing WCMD Challenges at Winnie and Walter blog. I remember they had a similar event during this time last year as well, and I missed it. Didn't want to miss it this time.

So here's my card :-

To start with, I stamped the smaller sized butterflies from the beautiful Mudra stamp set, in a random fashion. Also, heat embossed a few tiny solid butterfly images from the same stamp to fill in the gaps. Then I water coloured the in-between areas with the help of my new Gansai Tambi water colour paints. These are absolutely AMAZING ! Thanks so much Deepti Agarwal and Tejal Mehta Shah for recommending this and sending me the link to the website.

The butterflies were also coloured with Gansai Tambi, but I couldn't manage to achieve good shading using these(still need a lot of practice when it comes to colouring images using watercolour cakes), so I added the darker shades using Faber Castel connector pens.
Added the sentiment from Peek-a-boo stamp set, layered the sentiment strip with a piece of torn vellum and white thread and stapled it along the edge.
Finished off with some colourful sequins.

DIY Money Gift Envelopes | Sizzix Post

Hello friends!

My new post for this week is up on sizzix.co.uk blog and I've shared a few DIY ideas for making money gift envelopes. The season of festivals has begun in India and when we talk of festivals, we know that gifting is an essential aspect . Money gift envelopes are quite popular here as one of the gifting options for some festivals, weddings or baby showers. Today I’m sharing a few ideas to make and decorate the money gift envelopes with the help of the new dies- Sizzix Thinlits Garden Greens and Sizzix thinlits die set Holiday words:Script.

Sharing a picture here:-

To view how these were made and to have a closer look at each of these, please visit the link below :-

***Please Click here to view the complete post with step-by-step pictures ****

If we have been crafting for a while, usually there’s no dearth of colourful card paper lying in our stash that we tend to hoard over a period of time. One nice idea to put them to good use is to make some envelopes out of these. I’m sharing a step-by-step process showing you how I made a money gift envelope and embellished it with the help of dies. It's very easy to make and you can easily make it without the use of any special crafting tool like envelope maker. I used  MS score board for measuring and scoring, but you can also make it without the score board, just using a simple steel ruler and a pencil.
